Why isn't my search returning what I expected?
Try a broader term ("loan" instead of "30-year FHA refi"), or switch the content-type tab from All to Calculator if you want only computational tools. The search engine matches title, description, tags, and category — not full article body.
How is search different from the navigation menu?
The menu shows the category tree (the hierarchy editorial designed). Search finds matches across every page on the site regardless of where it lives in the tree. Use the menu when you know the category; use search when you know the term.
Why are there so many content types in the filter?
Because Calculover ships eight different page types: calculators, guides, topics, comparisons, flows, state pages, resources, and browser tools. Each is built for a different decision moment. The filters narrow to just one type when you know which kind of page you need.
Is my search query stored?
The query and filters live in the URL query parameters (so you can share or bookmark a filtered view) but nothing is stored server-side — there's no signup, no account, no search history on our end. Your browser's normal history retention rules apply.
