Frequently Asked Questions

How are fantasy baseball points calculated?

In standard fantasy baseball (ESPN/Yahoo), hitters earn points for hits (+1), doubles (+1 bonus on top of H), triples (+2 bonus), home runs (+4), RBI (+1), runs scored (+1), and stolen bases (+2). Strikeouts typically cost −1 point. Pitchers earn points for strikeouts (+1), wins (+5), and innings pitched (+3 per inning), while giving up earned runs (−1) and walks (−1).

What is the difference between standard and rotisserie (roto) scoring?

Standard (points) scoring converts each stat into a numeric point total — easy to compare head-to-head each week. Rotisserie (roto) scoring ranks all teams in each statistical category and awards standing points based on rank. In roto leagues, building a balanced team across all categories matters more than maximizing a single stat. This calculator uses standard points scoring.

What are PPR points in fantasy football?

PPR stands for "point per reception." In PPR leagues, each catch earns 1 additional point on top of yardage and touchdown scoring. This significantly boosts the value of pass-catching running backs and slot receivers who accumulate many catches. The RB/WR scoring in this calculator includes the standard PPR 1-point-per-reception bonus.

How are fantasy basketball points calculated?

In standard fantasy basketball (DraftKings/FanDuel-style), players earn 1 point per game point, 1.2 per rebound, 1.5 per assist, 2 per steal, 2 per block, 0.5 per 3-pointer made, and lose 1 point per turnover. A 25-point, 8-rebound, 6-assist performance would generate roughly 43.6 fantasy points.
